The first half certainly wasnt filled with chances with neither side really getting clear cut attampts at goal. An early Tom Melledew free kick into the box was just too far for Sean Cook to get a touch. Bishops Cleeve attacked down the right but the wingers cross was sliced wide. Thatcham forced 3 consecutive corners but failed to punish the visiting defence. A the other end Tom Melledew headed clear a Cleeve corner. It wasnt until the final few minutes of the half that the deadlock was broken. On 42 minutes a Tom Etheridge cross field ball found Mark Hughes and his cross was only cleared to Sam Tucker, his shot was blocked and fell to Shane Kingston who made no mistake woth the follow up. In the 45th minute a Mark Hughes cross from the right flew over to the far side where Tom Etheridge was well placed on the edge of the box to volley low into the far corner. Bishops Cleeve threatened early in the second half when a ball was played through to the forward but he could only drag his shot wide of the far post. Thatcham went close when a Tom Etheridge corner was headed just over the bar by Sam Flegg. Cleeve had a decent spell of pressure and in the 65th minute grabbed a goal back when Vercesi headed in from Close range. Despite some further pressure Cleeve didnt manage to test Paul Strudley. The points were sealed when Sam Tucker pounced on a poor touch from the keeper to slot into an empty net before celebrating the goal with the TTFC drummers.FT: Thatcham Town 3-1 Bishops Cleeve
