Tanaka Gabaza fired Abbey into the lead shortly before half-time, and although Luke Polding headed the Kingfishers level on 71 minutes, Joden Trickett scored a late winner for the hosts.

Results elsewhere mean Thatcham are still not mathematically safe from relegation. Guildford City will definitely finish in the bottom two, however Eversley & California and Camberley Town can still both overtake Town.

Thatcham’s final home game of the season comes on Saturday when Sutton Common Rovers visit the Mettal Stadium. That is followed by trips to Tooting & Mitcham United on Easter Monday, then Chipstead the following Saturday.
