Isuzu FA Vase Balham FC V Thatcham Town FC 18th October

This Saturday, we’re back on the road and making the trip once again to Imperial Fields, home of Balham FC, for the second time in just 18 days. Last time out, things didn’t quite go our way as we slipped to a narrow 1–0 defeat in the League Cup on October 1st — so the lads will be eager to put that right this weekend!

Balham have been calling Imperial Fields home since the start of the 2024/25 season, groundsharing with Tooting & Mitcham United.

They kicked off their campaign with an impressive away win and have looked particularly strong at home since, losing only twice in all competitions. Most recently, they edged a 3–2 victory over Jarvis Brook in the FA Vase, showing once again how dangerous they can be on their own turf.

In league action, Balham currently sit five places above us with 14 points from 11 games. Goals certainly haven’t been a problem for them — they’ve scored 24 times this season, with James Anderson and Rob White accounting for around 40% of those strikes.

As for us, our current form might not make for the best reading, but as we all know, form counts for little in cup football. Cameron and the lads are determined to head back to Berkshire knowing we’ve done enough to be in the hat for the next round draw on Monday, 20th October at 1pm.

It’s all to play for — and we’ll be giving it everything to make sure our name’s in that draw!

Travel to Imperial Fields
We still have a few seats left on the coach however if you prefer to make your own way then this is the following travel advice
Car: Plenty of parking at the stadium, but best to arrive early, to ensure a parking space is still available.

From the M25 take Junction 8 (A217) and follow signs to Sutton. Continue on A217 to Rosehill, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout and follow signs to Mitcham onto Bishopsford Road. Imperial Fields is situated approximately one mile down the road on the right hand side, opposite the petrol garage.
