Cam Philbey's side come into this fixture off the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Balham on Saturday, in which Curtis Angell scored Town's first-half equaliser. Thatcham welcome back Levi Heholt this evening, though there are injury concerns around Andy Matthews who was substituted on Saturday.
A point would ensure Thatcham would definitely finish above Guildford, who have just one game left to play. Meanwhile Town are currently 7 points above the bottom side Eversley & California with one game in hand. Eversley take on Badshot Lea this evening.
Prior to the weekend’s fixtures Horley Town sat fifth in the table, occupying the final
play-off position. They suffered a narrow 2-0 defeat away at Champions Cobham and have consequently dropped to seventh. A win this evening would see the Clarets climb back above Knaphill and Fleet again.
Prior to the Cobham game, Horley did Thatcham a favour by defeating Camberley (1-0)
and Epsom & Ewell (4-0). Top scorer Arlie Desanges scored his 14 of the season in
the Epsom win, with Coby Acquaye just one behind in the scoring charts.
On August 30th, the Kingfishers won 1-0 at Horley’s New Defence ground, which was
Thatcham’s first away league win in almost 500 days after they somehow failed to pick
up a win on their travels in the 2024-25 Southern League campaign. That game
featured two missed penalties, as first Callum Willmoth saw a first-half penalty saved,
then towards the end Maciej Wieczorek kept out a late Horley spot-kick. Oliver Denner
pounced on a defensive mix-up to score the only goal of the game on 80 minutes.
Kick-off is at 7:45pm at the Mettal Stadium.
