League action returns to Waterside Park this Saturday when Thatcham host Cirencester Town (3:00pm kick off.)

The Kingfishers' last outing resulted in a narrow 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bristol Manor Farm midweek. Recent signing Jon Beeden found the net on three occasions but, unfortunately, two of those goals came at the wrong end.

Cirencester, however, have produced emphatic scorelines in their last two games against Larkhall Athletic and Bideford - winning 4-1 and 8-2 respectively.

Defeat for Thatcham at Bristol meant the club stay tenth heading into this weekend's fixtures. The Blues remain neck-and-neck with Street, AFC Totton, Cinderford Town and Winchester City – teams that are all within two points of Danny Robinson's side.

Recent results for the away side have propelled Cirencester to fourth in the league standings and five points clear of Winchester, who sit just outside of the coveted play-off spots.

Thatcham will certainly have to perform better than they did in their last meeting with the Centurions in November. George Jeacock and James Tennant found the net but a hat-tick from Ben Whitehead helped Cirencester cruise to a 6-2 win over the Blues.

This week’s match ball is sponsored by Eric, Bob, Cliff C, John, Matt and Cliff M in memory of Dave Clark – a long-term Thatcham supporter who will be sorely missed by everyone at the club.
