Street 1 Thatcham Town 2
By Andy Morris
Chris Rackley saved a penalty as the Kingfishers withstood second-half pressure to win at Street.
Thatcham made a fine start in Somerset as Shane Cooper-Clark scored a 7th minute penalty, and Town's lead was extended on 39 minutes when Kyle Tooze converted George Jeacock's cross.
The hosts pulled one back on the stroke of half-time through Aiden Chainey's long-range strike, and piled on the pressure during the second half as they chased an equaliser. On 52 minutes the Cobblers won a penalty but Chris Rackley saved Steve Murray's attempt. And having earlier hit the post through Jamie Short, Murray also struck the woodwork.
But Thatcham held firm to earn three valuable points to take them into the top half of the table, 5 points off the play-offs.
