Winger Joe Selman has become Thatcham Town’s latest summer signing.

Joe is an attacking player, who usually plays as a winger but is also happy in the number ten role.

He spent many years with Bristol City as a youngster before signing for Swindon Supermarine in July 2016 following his release from Ashton Gate.

At Supermarine he became a regular name in the starting line up, scoring 12 goals as they won promotion to the Southern League Premier division. During that 2017/18 season Selman also picked up the Supporter’s and Player’s Player of the Season Award.

Selman said he was aware of Thatcham’s progress over the last couple of seasons, and both Jack Alexander and Babz Jarra had talked positively about the club. He added “Having also spoken with Danny, it’s clear Thatcham are not content with sitting at this level and want to make further progress. That gave me the assurance that Thatcham is the right club for me. I think we can give it a really good go this season, and get the club to the highest level it has been at.”
