No sooner had the final whistle blown on our historic FA Vase win at Wembley, than we were starting to look ahead to the close season and beyond.

With that in mind, we are calling for volunteers to help with anything from odd-jobs at the clubhouse and ground, to helping to cover and promote the exploits of the first team and under 18s on the pitch next season.

Volunteering at your local football club can be a hugely rewarding experience, as the entertainment provided by the first team this season - winning the league championship and FA Vase double - goes to show. It provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in a welcoming community of like-minded people and contribute to a local organisation that brings hope and joy to fans throughout the town each week.

Getting involved at Thatcham Town FC can also be a great source of work experience, for example if you fancy a career in web and social media, or sports reporting, like one of our volunteers from Kennet School who gained a press and pitch-side photography pass at Wembley Stadium and has had their work published in national news publications this season.

Alternatively, at the other end of the spectrum, it can provide an opportunity to turn your hand to something that you had always wanted to do, but life had got in the way!

The 2018/19 season promises to be an exciting and challenging season on the pitch at Waterside Park, so please help us to make a difference by contributing off it.
